- I have one of the new "V34+" 33.6k Sportster modems from US Robotics
- and I was wondering if anyone has experienced the following problem.
- I have a Cyclades 8yo card which I connect my Sporsters to and the
- other "regular v34" Sportsters work fine. However, the V34+ causes mgetty
- under Linux to respawn repeatedly so that I see a 'disabled for 5 minutes
- message in /usr/adm/messages.
- The registers seem to have changed. The only setting I changed on the
- V34+ was set S13 = to 1.
- I thought something was wrong with the modem so swapped it for a new
- one but it still does the same thing. I have tried it on the same ports
- that the other regular V34's work on and it still causes mgetty to respawn.
-
- Any ideas? I know these modems are very popular so I'd expect there'd
- be a lot of messages about this problem if it was a hardware problem, but...
- I'm very confused.
-
- Thank you very much
